I can’t quit before I begin. Even though I already have. So many times. More times than I want to type in this introductory and inaugural piece de resistance!
Fear has held me back.
‘Too many ideas’ has held me back.
Past trauma has held me back.
Questioning my purpose and pain has held me back.
Time management has held me back.
Big feelings have held me back.
Rational reasoning has held me back.
But… Jesus has pushed me forward. His whispers through His Word have beckoned me to come, lay what I have at His feet, surrender my idea of what’s right for my life, and give up my desire to understand everything. Through His tender lovingkindness, He’s gently exposed who I am, who He created me to be, and honestly, who I am not…
This work is a product of that process. I’m His and I’m me!
I love Jesus and His Ways and His Word. My identity is most secure in Him; I crash and burn when I try to find it somewhere else.
I’m quirky and like things that don’t quite fit the mold. My creativity is best when it stems from this.
I find the word “clumsy” more appealing than “ditsy” but I’m probs both.
I love to read and love to listen to podcasts. Beautiful words, whether spoken or written, are my love language.
I’m a wife and mom and find a lot of humor in both! Things go sideways when I get too serious about either one.
I looooove to share. Seriously! Ask my mom about my 11 year old dream to have a “give away” room in our house to fill up with stuff and people could just come shop for free! And then we’d always have something to give as a present to whomever we wanted! It would have been so cool! #didnthappen #pastorskidallowance You could also ask my husband about how I like to tank our finances every so often because so-and-so needs it!
Basically, *this* is a place for all of that—
pretty words + what God is doing around the world + products I like + funny stories, or maybe serious, or probably both + links to access it all
Glad you’re here! It’s a privilege to walk this road beside you…
This week, I want to share a couple categories of things I think are awesome:
Article: Inside WNBA legend Maya Moore’s extraordinary quest for justice | Love this story detailing what Maya has sacrificed on behalf of a friend…
Book: “Be the Bridge” by LaTasha Morrison | Incredible insight from a trusted sister in Christ + super practical steps we can all take toward racial reconciliation in our own circles
Podcast(s): First, you need to subscribe to “That Sounds Fun” with my pretend BFF Annie F. Downs; she’s creating a whole network of fun podcasts (think adventure theme park where each pod is a different ride.) “Dadville” is the newest to drop and I think you’ll love it, even if you’re not a dad. It’s hilarious and important!
Product: Smart Watch | Like the look of the Apple Watch but hate the price? Don’t care about sharing your step count with friends or connecting your watch to a million apps? Then, boy, have I a surprise for you! This watch is simple, looks like a replica of the popular brands, and does the basics for only $37!
Recipe: Slow Cooker Nashville Hot Chicken | *WARNING* *HOT* This recipe calls for 4 TABLESPOONS of cayenne! FOUR! Yikes. I didn’t think we could handle that so I only put one in ours and ohmygosh, it was still SO SPICY! We had it on lettuce wraps with loads of Ranch & pickle slices but I think buns would’ve helped cut the heat a bit. I froze the extras with a note about chicken tacos & to add more plain chicken to the mix. Ha!
Scripture: Galatians 6:4-5 MSG - Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. | (Galatians 5 ESV)
Okay, friends, that’s all for now. Would love it if you stuck around and we could follow Jesus together! Just remember that I’m a little clumsy and quirky, so I’ll probably step on your toes sometimes, bump into you with my lack of spatial awareness, embarrass you in front of your friends, and make you snort laugh just when you’ve taken a sip of coffee.
Until next time…

Oh! I almost forgot— this newsletter is i-n-t-e-r-a-c-t-i-v-e! It’s the best part & why I chose this platform! Please respond and comment with some of your favorites from this week or the details of your coffee snort. We’re all here for it! Life is more fun together!
This is great
